Monument at 640 Bourke Street is a complex mixed-use development combining the adaptive reuse of the heritage-listed Eliza Tinsley warehouse with a 69-storey contemporary tower designed by Rothelowman Architects.

ABK Fire Engineering provided specialist fire engineering services across both the heritage and high-rise components of the project. This included the rationalised design of stair pressurisation systems to support performance-based outcomes while maximising usable floor space, as well as the integration of fire safety strategies associated with a state-of-the-art curtain wall façade system.

Through performance-based analysis and close coordination with the design team, ABK delivered compliant, efficient fire safety solutions that balanced regulatory requirements, architectural intent, and the unique challenges of integrating heritage fabric with a modern high-rise development.
